Este trabalho buscou discutir aspectos da relação entre liberdade e destino conforme se apresentam em Grande sertão: veredas, de João Guimarães Rosa .Para isso, recorreu, principalmente, à ideia de evento, ou acontecimento, conforme pensada por Jacques Derrida.
This paper aims to discuss some aspects of the relationship between freedom and fate as they present themselves in Grande sertão: veredas by João Guimarães Rosa. To do that, it resorted to the idea of event, or happening, in Jacques Derrida’s thought.
