O objetivo do presente artigo é discutir a natureza e os alcances da
supremacia constitucional. A supremacia é um princÃpio inerente a toda forma de vida
constitucional e radica-se em duas vertentes essenciais: a supremacia formal e a
supremacia material.

The purpose of this paper is to discuss the nature and scope of
constitutional supremacy. Supremacy is a principle inherent in all forms of constitutional
life and is rooted in two main components: the formal supremacy and the material
supremacy.
