O crescimento acelerado, desordenado, sem planejamento urbano, acarreta a concentração da população de baixa renda em áreas periféricas dos municípios, destituídas de infraestrutura para garantir qualidade de vida. A compreensão entre a relação de políticas públicas, meio ambiente e saúde pública visando à garantia da qualidade de vida sem distinção entre as populações é de grande interesse para a promoção da justiça ambiental. O objetivo desta revisão é estabelecer uma conexão entre saneamento ambiental e saúde pública frente a um crescimento urbano, que favorece desigualdade no acesso aos recursos naturais e vulnerabilidade social, promovedoras de um quadro de injustiça ambiental.
The uncontrolled and accelerated growth, without urban planning, causes the concentration of low-income population inhabiting in peripheral areas of the cities, devoid of infrastructure to ensure quality of life. The understanding between the public policy relationship, the environment and public health aimed at ensuring the quality of life without distinction between populations is of great interest for the promotion of environmental justice. The objective of this review is to establish a connection between environmental sanitation and public health front to an urban growth, unequal access to natural resources and social vulnerability, establishing an environmental injustice frame.
