A sociologia e a literatura apresentam distinções metodológicas que promovem enfoques diferentes acerca da vida social. Contudo, na perspectiva de Zygmunt Bauman, elas seriam “irmãs”, oscilando entre a rivalidade e a colaboração na busca de seu objetivo compartilhado de “rasgar as cortinas”. Esta alegoria é trabalhada por Bauman a partir de Milan Kundera e sinaliza para uma das tarefas da sociologia no processo de conhecimento sobre a realidade social. Nessa perspectiva, caberia ao professor de sociologia “rasgar a cortina” que encobre a realidade por meio de representações distorcidas e ingênuas da sociedade. A reflexão proposta examina um fenômeno coletivo importante (futebol) por meio da hermenêutica que se esboça na “fronteira” entre as ciências sociais, a literatura e a educação.

Sociology and literature have methodological distinctions that promote different approaches about social life. However, in view of Zygmunt Bauman, they would be "sisters", oscillating between rivalry and cooperation in the pursuit of their shared goal of "rip the curtains". This allegory is crafted by Bauman from Milan Kundera and signals to one of the sociology of tasks in the process of knowledge about social reality. In this perspective, it would be the professor of sociology "rip the curtain" that obscures the reality through distorted and naive representations of society. The proposed reflection examines an important collective phenomenon (soccer) through hermeneutics that is outlined in the "border" between the social sciences, literature and education.
