Este artigo discute as diretrizes para o ensino de filosofia de Jean Maugüé e sua influência na formação dos primeiros filósofos acadêmicos no Brasil durante o período em que atuou como professor da Universidade de São Paulo. Destaca-se a elegância do seu magistério e a sua compreensão da cultura brasileira na formulação do seu projeto de ensino. De acordo com Maugüé a filosofia deve ser um esforço de reflexão sobre a vida no presente. Logo, o estudante deve possuir, previamente, uma “cabeça bem forrada” de conhecimentos científicos e artísticos. O genuíno aprendizado filosófico deriva de uma experiência íntima, pessoal e caudatária do conhecimento da história da filosofia a partir de suas fontes originais.
This article discusses Jean Maugüé's guidelines for the teaching of Philosophy and his influence in the formation of the first academic philosophers in Brazil during the period he influence in the formation of the first academic philosophers in Brazil during the period he highlighted the elegance of his teaching and his understanding of Brazilian culture in the formulation of his educational project.
