Brasil; conhecer a vida e a obra de Ataulfo Alves levando em conta sua importância na MPB;
retratado?

Resumo Inglês:

Using Discourse Analysis of the French line developed by Dominique
Maingueneau, this article deals with the constitution of the discursive ethos, related to
interdiscourse and scenes listed in the four Ataulfo Alves songs‘ (singer and composer whose
centenary was celebrated in 2009) that speak of childhood lived in the town of
Miraí. Analyzing such discourse, we will: a) examine how the discursive ethos is formed,
make a deeper study on AD; b) search for the samba‘s role in Brazil, know the life and the
work of Ataulfo Alves taking into account its importance in MPB; c) analyse four of his songs
based on discursive ethos‘s notion, enunciative and interdiscourse scenes, in the prospects
outlined by Maingueneau. We seek to answer the following methodological issues: i) How is
the constitution of the ethos of the Ataulfo Alves songs‘ selected for analysis? ii) Are there
differences in this constitution, one song to another? iii) To what degree we can transfer up
the ethos of the selected songs for the analysis of Brazilian popular culture in the period
depicted by them?
