Neste artigo, o autor aborda a relação entre teatro e público a partir de duas instâncias, que podem ser pensadas em tensão produtiva. Por um lado, a importância da colaboração do público no movimento teatral, partindo da noção de que não há alteração na arte que possa ocorrer sem a efetiva participação dos espectadores. E, por outro, o necessário engajamento do público-participante para a realização do evento teatral, tendo em vista que o fato artístico não se efetiva sem o ato criativo do espectador.
In this article, the author addresses the relationship between theater and public from two approaches which can be analyzed as a productive tension. On the one hand, the importance of audience collaboration in the theater movement, starting from the notion that there is no alteration in the art that can occur without the effective participation of the public. And, on the other hand, the necessary commitment of the public in a participative manner for the outcome of the theater event, considering that the artistic act does not happen to its fullest without the creative actitud of the public.
