This study analyzed the concentrations of heavy metals (Al, Ba, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb, and Zn) by Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (FAAS) and physico-chemical variable (pH, electric conductivity, and temperature) in situ in surface water samples located around the neighborhood of Manaus Municipal Landfill and leachate. Water and leachate samples were collected in rainy and dry season with aim to verify the anthropogenic influence on hydric system comprised by Matrinxã, Aracu, Acará, and BolÃvia Igarapés (narrower water channels). The results were obtained submitted to two exploratory statistical analyses: Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Hierarchical Analysis (HCA). The findings indicated heavy metal concentrations distinct according to season and element. PCA revealed meaningful correlations among Al, Cd, Fe, Mn, Ni, and Pb and Zn and Co. The HCA and PCA showed that the characteristics of the hydric system are similar to leachate in dry season.
