Considering the complex seasonal variability of the Northeast caatingano biome of Brazil (NEB), a better characterization of the seasonal biophysical parameters of the vegetation referring to this class of vegetation is important in the context of modeling the biosphere-atmosphere interaction for NEB. These parameters affect the interactions between the terrestrial biosphere and the atmosphere. Therefore, the main objective of this work was to obtain a more realistic representation of the parameters of Leaf Area and Fraction of Plant Cover for the caating biome through MODIS / TERRA sensor images and to evaluate the impact of these parameters on surface energy balance simulations.
