Neste trabalho será analisada a peça de teatro de Johan Cristoph Friedrich Von Schiller, escritor
alemão da época do pré-romantismo. A peça chamada “Die Jungfrau von Orléans” (A Donzela de
Orleans) exibe uma história emotiva e cativante, onde a personagem principal, Joana, é uma heroína,
característica que por si só desperta interesse e é passível de análise. Este trabalho faz parte do projeto de
pesquisa em andamento Imagens de Joana d’Arc: Cinema, História e Literatura coordenado pela
professora Cybele Crosseti de Almeida. A presente análise, que encontra-se em fase inicial tem por
objetivo identificar a Joana de Schiller e o mito de herói que a compõe dentro da obra, assim como seus
contextos influenciadores.

Resumo Inglês:

This paper analyzes the play of Johan Christoph Friedrich von Schiller, German writer of the
time of pre-romanticism. The play called "Die Jungfrau von Orleans" (the maid of Orleans) displays an
emotional and captivating story, where the main character, Joan, is a hero, feature that alone arouses
interest and is subject to analysis. This work is part of the ongoing research project "Images of Joan of
Arc: Cinema, History and Literature" coordinated by Ph.D. Cybele Crosseti de Almeida. This analysis,
which is in the initial phase aims to identify the Joan of Schiller and the myth of the hero that composes
her in the play, as well as their influencing contexts.
