Este artigo procurou contribuir para as histórias de violência de gênero por meio da trajetória de Nísia Floresta, mulher que foi considerada símbolo de preambular de luta pelos direitos humanos das mulheres. Nesse sentido, o principal objetivo desse texto, foi analisar os pensamentos vanguardistas da autora quanto à construção histórica de um discurso de luta pela igualdade entre os gêneros, precipuamente, em face das opressões físicas e psicológicas que as mulheres sofriam. Utilizou-se como metodologia o levantamento bibliográfico com uma abordagem qualitativa referente ao contexto histórico da vida e obra de Nísia Floresta, mulher nordestina até bem pouco tempo excluída das discussões no meio acadêmico e das formadoras e formadores de opinião pública, assim destacando o seu relevante papel inaugural na construção dos primeiros passos na defesa dos direitos humanos das mulheres.

This article sought to contribute to the stories of gender violence through the trajectory of Nísia Floresta, a woman who was considered a symbol of the preamble of the struggle for women's human rights. In this sense, the main objective of this text was to analyze the author's avant-garde thoughts regarding the historical construction of a discourse of struggle for equality between the genders, mainly in the face of the physical and psychological oppressions that women suffered. A bibliographic survey was used as a methodology with a qualitative approach referring to the historical context of the life and work of Nísia Floresta, a northeastern woman until very recently excluded from discussions in the academic environment and from the trainers and formers of public opinion, thus highlighting her relevant an inaugural role in the construction of the first steps in the defense of women's human rights.
