Este artigo pretende analisar a heresia enquanto subproduto das relações existentes entre as três principais religiões monoteístas que conviveram no período medieval e no ambiente mediterrânico, principalmente a partir do século VII, quais sejam: o cristianismo, o judaísmo e o islamismo. Deste modo, visa estabelecer uma introdução acerca da temática de acordo com as conexões que são apresentadas pela historiografia mais atual, especialmente sob a ótica da autora Christine Caldwell Ames, cuja sua obra “Medieval Heresies: Christianity, Judaism, and Islam”, traz-nos um panorama que deslinda questões específicas sobre pontos comuns e divergentes das ortodoxias cristã, judaica e islâmica, notadamente quando se estuda a questão da heresia e do herege, todavia, a pergunta que se apresenta seria no sentido de saber a viabilidade de transpor o conceito de heresia para as principais religiões monoteístas?

This article aims to analyze heresy as a byproduct of the relationships between the three main monotheistic religions that coexisted in the medieval period and the Mediterranean environment, especially from the seventh century, which are the Judaism and Islam. Thus, it aims to establish an introduction about the theme according to the connections that are presented by the most current historiography, especially from the perspective of the author Christine Caldwell Ames, whose recent work "Medieval Heresies: Christianity, Judaism, and Islam" brings us a panorama that clarifies specific questions about common and divergent points of Christian, Jewish and Islamic orthodoxies, especially when studying the issue of heresy and heretic, However, the question he poses would be whether it would be possible to transpose the concept of heresy to the main monotheistic religions?
