Neste estudo, uma pesquisa de levantamento com perspectiva seccional de análise examina criticamente as percepções dos indivíduos em relação ao voluntariado e ao voluntarismo no Estado do Paraná. Indivíduos presentes à VI Mostra de Ação Voluntária (N = 122) responderam a um instrumento de coleta de dados para autoavaliação em relação a fatores que afetam sua percepção em relação ao voluntariado e ao voluntarismo. Uma análise multivariada de variância foi efetuada para investigar se há diferenças estatísticas signifi cativas entre os gêneros masculino e feminino no que tange a esta percepção. Revelou-se uma diferença estatística signifi cativa entre os gêneros na combinação das variáveis dependentes: F (5, 116) = 134,49, p = 0,000; Wilks’ λ = 0,147; η2Parcial = 0,85. Portanto, os resultados revelaram diferenças entre gêneros no que tange às percepções acerca do voluntariado e voluntarismo.

In this study, a survey with cross-sectional perspective of analysis critically examines the perceptions of individuals towards volunteering and volunteerism in the State of Paraná. Individuals attending the VI Mostra de Ação Voluntária (N = 122) answered a self-evaluation data collection instrument concerning factors that affects their perception towards volunteering and volunteerism.
A multivariate analysis of variance was performed to investigate if there are significant statistical differences between male and female gender in relation to this perception. There was a statistically signifi cant difference between gender on the combined dependent variables: F (5, 116) = 134.49, p =
0.000; Wilks’ λ = 0.147; Partial η2 = 0.85. Therefore, the results revealed differences between gender about their perceptions of volunteering and volunteerism.
