Em entrevista, o pesquisador Norval Baitello Junior faz um amplo relato da importância do filósofo Vilém Flusser para o entendimento do mundo em que vivemos, principalmente dadas as características do cotidiano atual. Ao comemorar o centenário desse pensador visionário e provocador, percebemos o quanto a obra de Flusser se mantém atual e urgente. Após o seu falecimento, em 1991, o pensamento desenvolvido por ele consegue iluminar reflexões sobre temas contemporâneos, como o mundo digital no qual estamos inseridos e a proliferação das imagens e seu impacto no comportamento humano. Além disso, podemos encontrar nas teorias do filósofo checo, que viveu décadas no Brasil, pistas para refletir sobre a condição humana até mesmo em tempos de pandemia e isolamento social, características que marcam o ano de 2020. É ponto central na entrevista, ainda, os trâmites que permitiram ao Brasil ser sede do Arquivo Flusser São Paulo, uma iniciativa espelho do original existente na Alemanha. Aborda-se, também, a relevância desse espaço e a sua contribuição para a evolução das pesquisas sobre a obra de um dos mais geniais pensadores do século XX, Vilém Flusser.

In an interview, researcher Norval Baitello Junior spoke about the importance of Vilém Flusser contribution in the understanding of the contemporary world. His way of thinking, being visionary and provocative is still actual and imperative at his centenary's birth celebration to be completed next year. Flusser died in 1991 but his ideas are able to enlighten contemporary reflections on actual themes, such as the digital world and technical images impact on human behavior. He was a Czech philosopher that lived a while in Brazil. We can also find in his theories, as Baitello Jr. said, some clues to think about the human condition – even in times of pandemics, which marks the 2020 year. In addition, central to the interview are the procedures that allowed Brazil to be host of São Paulo Flusser's Archive, the mirror initiative of the original one existing in Germany. Furthermore, the interview shows how this important space has being contributing to the evolution of research about the work of one of the most brilliant researcher and thinker of the 20th century.
