FESTAS POPULARES: SIMBOLISMO, TRAJETÓRIA E POSSIBILIDADES NA GEOGRAFIA CULTURAL

A ciência geográfica cabe um papel particular: ser uma
ciência do espaço do homem. O olhar científico
geográfico prioriza o reconhecimento do espaço
geográfico, percebido como um sistema lógico de ações
e objetos geográficos. A literatura indica o espaço
detentor de uma relação direta com a sociedade, sendo
sua produção e organização produto de um conjunto de
práticas definidas como práticas espaciais. Os rituais
religiosos, as paisagens, as festas populares, as práticas
comerciais e econômicas, as representações políticas,
entre outros temas, figuram como centrais à
compreensão destas práticas espaciais. Com vistas a tal
elucidação, uma questão desponta: Como ler as festas
na Geografia? Para responder a esta questão, nosso
estudo estrutura-se em três grandes etapas: (a)
primeiramente, teremos a implantação da Geografia no
cenário científico brasileiro e o descortinar da trajetória
da Geografia; (b) em segundo, a retratação da
Geografia Cultural – sub-campo da ciência geográfica –
que possibilitará a discussão de estudos acerca da
difusão, percepção e organização espacial das festas
populares (profanas e religiosas), por sua dimensão
simbólica; e, por fim (c) um enquadramento de
estudos, que norteou, norteia e, possivelmente,
norteará caminhos investigativos aos geográficos
reconhecedores da festa e sua dinâmica enquanto
agente modelador do espaço.

A
particular paper fits to geographic science: to be a
science of the space of the mankind. The geographic
scientific look prioritizes the recognition of the
geographic space, noticed as a logical system of action
and geographic objects. Literature indicates the space
detainer of a direct relation with the society, being its
production and organization product of a package of
practices defined as spacial practices. The religious
rituals, the landscapes, the popular parties, commercial
usage and the economic ones, the politics
representations, among others subjects, appear as
central to the understanding of these spacial practices.
With sights to such briefing, a question blunts: How to
read the parties in Geography? To answer this
question, our study structure itself in three great
stages: (a) first, we will have the implantation of
Geography in the brazilian scientific scene and the
disclosing of the trajectory of Geography; (b) second,
the retraction of Cultural Geography - inside of
geographic science - wich will make possible the
quarrel of studies concerning the diffusion, perception
and spacial organization of the popular parties
(profane and religious), for its symbolic dimension;
and finally (c) a framing of studies, that guided, guides
e, possibly, will guide investigatives ways to the
recognizing geographics of the party and its dynamics
while modeller agent of the space.
