A favela como espaço da relação entre religião e violência: a violência fundante no cotidiano e na teologia cristã

Este artigo objetiva discutir a presença de violência no cotidiano da favela, de forma geral, e também a estrutura vitimária e sacrificial que fundamenta a teologia cristã tradicional. Ao falarmos de favela, estamos considerando a realidade do Rio de Janeiro, buscando apresentar a religião como uma ferramenta de administração histórica da violência, mesmo considerando o surgimento do Estado moderno. Para tanto, veremos um panorama histórico da formação das favelas na cidade do Rio de Janeiro, partindo da perspectiva econômica que desde sempre privilegiou grupos de pessoas em detrimento de outros. Na sequência, discorreremos sobre qual violência estamos tratando quando associamos este fenômeno à realidade do Rio de Janeiro, e por fim, veremos como a própria teologia cristã ocidental está fundamentada em estruturas onde a morte e a sanguinolência são mascaradas para que fique evidenciado a salvação que parte diretamente de Deus, ambiguamente o mesmo que faz exigências de sacrifícios e está no topo da estrutura vitimária.

This article aims to discuss the presence of violence in the daily life of the favela, in a general way, and also a victimizing and sacrificial structure that underpins the traditional Christian Theology. When talking about the favela, we are considering the reality of Rio de Janeiro, searching to present the religion as a tool of historical administration of violence, even considering the emergence of the modern State. Therefore, we see a historical panorama of the favelas´ formation in Rio de Janeiro, based on the economic perspective that has always privileged some people groups to the detriment of others. Following, we talk about which violence we are dealing with when we associate this phenomenon to the reality of Rio de Janeiro, and lastly, we will see how the Western Christian theology itself is founded in structures where the death and the bloody violence are hidden so that the salvation that comes directly from God stays in evidence, ambiguously the same who makes sacrifices´ demands and is on the top of the victimizing structure.
