A presença cada vez mais numerosa de estudantes surdos em todos os níveis e modalidades da educação brasileira tem feito crescer, substancialmente, nos últimos anos, a demanda pela criação de sinais-termo para nomear conceitos referentes às diferentes áreas do conhecimento, bem como a demanda por obras lexicográficas para registro e divulgação desses novos itens lexicais. Entre os trabalhos com esse objetivo, localiza-se o Manuário Acadêmico e Escolar, resultante da investigação de um grupo de pesquisa do Departamento de Ensino Superior (DESU) do Instituto Nacional de Educação de Surdos (INES), composto de docentes, discentes e intérpretes da instituição, além de colaboradores externos. O produto, definido como um dicionário terminológico bilíngue da área da Pedagogia e das disciplinas do Ensino Básico, em processo de elaboração e aprimoramento, conta atualmente com um acervo de aproximadamente mil sinais, dos quais uma centena já com seus verbetes apresentados num formato mo-derno, dinâmico e original. Este artigo tem como objetivos situar o Manuário no processo de dicionarização da Língua Brasileira de Sinais, expor e discorrer sobre o processo de pesquisa e validação dos sinais divulgados por meio desse instrumento pedagógico de registro linguístico e consulta, e sugerir, em diálogo com outros autores, possíveis contribuições para a Lexicografia Terminológica da Libras
The increasing presence of deaf students in all levels and modalities of Brazilian education has substantially enhanced, in recent years, the demand for the creation of sign-terms in Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) to name concepts related to the differ-ent areas of knowledge and has enhanced also the demand for the production of lexicographical works for the record and dissemination of
these new lexical items. One of the productions with this aim is the Manuário Acadêmico e Escolar, a product of the investigation of a research group of the Department of Higher Education (DESU) at the National Institute for the Education of the Deaf (INES). The group is composed of professors, teachers, students and interpreters of the insti-tution, as well as external collaborators. The product, continuously updated, enlarged and improved, can be defined as a bilingual terminology dictionary of Pedagogy and Basic Education subject areas, currently containing a collection of approximately a thousand sign-terms, a hundred of which in conjunction with en-tries presented in a modern, dynamic and original format. The purposes of this article are to situate the Manuárioin the dictionarization pro-cess of the Brazilian Sign Language, to expose and discuss the research and validation processes of the sign-terms disseminated through this pedagogical tool for linguistic recording and research, and to suggest, in dialogue with other authors, possible contributions to terminological lexicography in Libras.
