The aim of this paper is to show an interaction between the ecologyand history through the study of relation between Italian colonization inVale Vêneto – Rio Grande of Sul and the local environment. Bibliographicresearch and interview was carried out in the period of 1999 to 2005.Through comparison of bibliographic research and oral sources showedwhich the ambient impact is minor than occurred in the finish XIX andbeginning XX century with arrival of italian immigration.
