Este trabalho tem como objetivo discutir as possíveis relações entre religião e cultura no segmento evangélico. Diante desse tema e a partir de observações do Coletivo Candiero, movimento artístico nordestino feito por jovens cristãos, através de uma abordagem qualitativa, quer-se abrir um diálogo, compartilhando algumas reflexões iniciais de pesquisa a respeito da associação entre produção artística evangélica e identidade cultural brasileira. Assim, pretendo contemplar a seguinte questão de pesquisa: “Pode a arte crente ser simplesmente arte/cultura nacional?” investigando as controvérsias e associações envolvidas na produção cultural evangélica, especialmente aquela que busca expandir a arte crente para além da música gospel e da importada estética worship, como faz o Coletivo Candiero.
This work aims to discuss the possible relationships between religion and culture within the evangelical segment. Given this theme and based on observations of Coletivo Candiero, a Brazilian Northeastern artistic movement composed of young Christians, through a qualitative approach, the objective of this work is to start a dialogue by sharing some initial research reflections regarding the association between evangelical artistic production and Brazilian cultural identity. Thus, I intend to address the following research question: “Can believer art simply be considered national art/culture?” by investigating the controversies and associations involved in evangelical cultural production, especially those seeking to expand believer art beyond gospel music and the imported worship aesthetic, as does Coletivo Candiero.
