O tema desenvolvimento estratégico do turismo no município de Itá (SC), investiga por meio da infraestrutura urbana e demais equipamentos de suporte, as potencialidades e deficiências do turismo no município, que é pequeno, tanto no tamanho populacional quanto na diversidade de atividades e funções municipais. O objetivo da pesquisa compreende em desenvolver um estudo estratégico que possa dar suporte para fomentar o desenvolvimento do turismo no município de Itá (SC). Apresentamos dados que sirvam para análise na tomada de decisões, elevando os indicadores das dimensões territorial, cultural e ambiental do turismo municipal e servindo como mecanismo de geração de trabalho e renda no município com vocação agropecuária. O procedimento metodológico adotado busca descrever o cenário do estudo, com uma abordagem qualitativa, de forma descritiva e explicativa. Como instrumento de coleta de dados abordou a pesquisa documental, Matriz de Condicionantes, Deficiências e Potencialidades e a entrevista. A técnica de análise e interpretação dos dados coletados está em tabular os dados de forma clara e objetiva, propondo objetivos estratégicos e metas para o turismo sustentável no município. Como resultados, foi possível demonstrar as potencialidades e fragilidades das dimensões territorial, cultural e ambiental, bem como, formas de corrigi-las com investimentos de curto, médio e longo prazo. A pesquisa prevê sugestões e recomendações para futuros estudos acerca do desenvolvimento do turismo sustentável.

The study theme for the strategic development of tourism in Itá city, seeks to investigate, through the infrastructure and other support equipment, the potentialities and deficiencies of tourism in the city, which is small, in terms of population size and diversity activities and functions. The goal of this project is to develop a strategic study that can provide support to foster the development of tourism in Itá city (SC), presenting data that can be used as a support for decision making, raising the sustainability indicators of the tourismin the city and serving as a mechanism for work and income generation in a city with an agricultural and livestock vocation. The methodological procedure adopted seeks to describe the study scenario, with a qualitative approach, in a descriptive and explanatory way, therefore, in primary and secondary data. As a data collection instrument, the documentary research, Conditioning Matrix, Deficiencies and Potentialities, and the interview, method that is very important to the technical analysis of the researchers, was addressed. The technique of analysis and interpretation of the collected data is to tabulate the data in a clear and objective way, proposing the strategic objectives and the goals for sustainable tourism in the city. As results, it was possible to demonstrate potentialities and weaknesses, as well as ways of correcting them by implementing short - medium - and long - term investments. The study also provides suggestions and recommendations for future studies on the development of sustainable tourism.
