A perícia contábil é exercida por profissional habilitado e visa auxiliar o juiz, ou quem contratar, na solução de conflitos que exigem o conhecimento de matérias das quais este não seja profundo conhecedor, dessa forma o papel do perito será responder as questões que colaborem com a solução do conflito, ou esclarecimento do fato. O objetivo geral desta pesquisa é analisar a classificação de especialista ou generalista dos peritos contábeis do estado do Tocantins segundo o cadastro nacional de peritos contábeis (CNPC). A pesquisa se caracteriza como exploratória e descritiva, por meio de um levantamento de dados no CNPC. A amostra utilizada na pesquisa foi os 248 peritos cadastrados e atuantes no Tocantins com base no CNPC. Os resultados identificaram que 97% dos peritos que atuam no estado do Tocantins tendem a ter uma característica de generalista, além disso a predominância dos peritos (as) que atuam no estado é do sexo masculino em todas as áreas disponíveis no CNPC

Specialized accounting inspection is carried out by a qualified professional and aims to help the judge, or whomever they hire, resolve conflicts that require knowledge of matters of which they are not deeply familiar, so the expert's role is to answer questions that help resolve the conflict or clarify the fact. The general objective of this research is to analyze the specialist or generalist classification of accounting experts in the state of Tocantins according to the national register of accounting experts (CNPC). The research is characterized as exploratory and descriptive, through a survey of data in the CNPC. The sample used in the research was the 248 experts registered and working in Tocantins based on the CNPC. The results identified that 97% of the experts working in the state of Tocantins tend to have a generalist characteristic, in addition to the predominance of male experts working in the state in all areas available on the CNPC.
