Este trabalho pretende elaborar algumas considerações sobre o traço memorialístico em um livro da literatura infantil - Memórias da Emília, de Monteiro Lobato, publicado em 1936. Além da abordagem metalingüística de teóricos da literatura confessional e da narrativa analisada, procuramos destacar e exemplificar o confronto existente entre o caráter tradicional e o ficcional das memórias.

The purpose of this work is to elaborate some considerations about the memorialistic aspect in the book of infantile literature - Memórias da Emília, of Monteiro Lobato, published in 1936. Besides the metalinguistic approach by researchers of the confessional literature and by the narrative analysed, we try to detail and exemplify the confrontation between the traditional and the fictitious nature of memories.
