Brevíssima resenha histórica sobre a emigração italiana para a Bahia, fundamentada na bibliografia produzida por autores brasileiros e peninsulares. O período considerado vai desde a unificação nacional italiana até a chegada do último grande grupo de emigrantes na Bahia, em meados do século XX. O problema é discutido nos contextos das relações internacionais e da história regional e local, examinando as contribuições italianas na indústria, no comércio, nas artes e na agricultura.
Short historical review about the Italian emigration to Bahia, based on bibliography produced by Brazilian and Peninsular authors. The period examined goes between Italy’s national unification and the arrival in Bahia of the last main group of emigrants, in middle 20th century. The question is discussed in both contexts of the international relations and the regional and local history, examining the Italian contributions to industry, trade, arts and agriculture.
