This research seeks to explain the relationship between underemployment and the productive and social structure in the province of Tungurahua, during the period 2007-2017, where it is essential to consider the productive sectors of the local economy and the social components of education, health and institutionalist. So, the econometric analysis was carried out to identify the relationship between the study variables and the presence of significance of the Dependent Variable was concluded with the following indicators: Tertiary productive sector, education qualification, public health service qualification and trust in the police. This indicates the simultaneous impact of the productive structure and social structure on the underemployed population.

Esta investigación busca explicar la relación entre el subempleo y la estructura productiva y social en la provincia de Tungurahua, durante el periodo 2007-2017, en donde es fundamental considerar los sectores productivos de la economía local y los componentes sociales de educación, salud e institucionalidad. Se efectuó un análisis econométrico para identificar la relación existente entre las variables de estudio y se concluyó la presencia de significancia de la Variable Dependiente con los siguientes indicadores: Sector productivo terciario, calificación a la educación, calificación al servicio de salud pública y confianza en la policía. Esto indica la incidencia simultánea de la estructura productiva y la estructura social en la población subempleada.
