O presente artigo tem como objetivo abordar sobre o papel mediador da biblioteca escolar e suas contribuições para o desenvolvimento e mediação da leitura na escola. Trata-se uma pesquisa de cunho bibliográfico porque permite o contato com o referencial teórico, uma vez que é parte das leituras, análises e fichamentos de documentos para pesquisa em andamento sobre o tema da biblioteca escolar e medição da leitura para formação de leitores em escolas públicas de ensino médio. Espera-se com este trabalho trazer encaminhamentos para uma proposta de atuação voltada para as bibliotecas escolares a partir de um conjunto de categorias, tais como: dos sujeitos da informação que compõem o ambiente da biblioteca escolar e algumas de caráter temático acerca das práticas estabelecidas no âmbito da mediação da leitura desempenhada pela biblioteca escolar

The present article aims to address the mediating role of the school library and its contributions to the development and mediation of reading in school. It is a bibliographical research because it allows the contact with the theoretical reference, since it is part of the readings, analyzes and records of documents for research in progress on the theme of the school library and measurement of reading for the formation of readers in schools Public schools. It is hoped that this work will lead to a proposal for action on school libraries based on a set of categories, such as: the information subjects that make up the school library environment and some thematic about the practices established in the Reading mediated by the school library
