The consumption from juice assai has increased in the country and the exterior, mainly to be a functional food, there was a need for improvement research to meet this growing demand. With the objective of evaluating the dissimilarity for purposes of selection, 30 half-sib progenies of assai trees from the Anajá municipality and cultivated in Tomé-Açu, Pará, were evaluated for the following characteristics: average weight of the bunch (PMC), in grams; total fruit weight (PTF), in grams; average weight of empty bunch (PMCV), in grams; average size of the stem/cluster (TMR) in centimeters; average weight of 100 fruits (PCF), in grams; total number of clusters (NTC) and; total weight of the bunch (PTC), being obtained by multiplying PMC and NTC. The results show that there was no relationship of CVg/CVe above 0.70; together PMCV and PCF were responsible for 58.514% to 65.394% of the total diversity; in the phenogram of the dissimilarity the two larger groups included 76.7% and 86.7% of the progenies in the dissimilarity limits of 50 and 70%, respectively. The conclusions are that there was a significant GxE interaction in all the characteristics, with greater contribution of environmental effects; the ratio CVg/CVe in the evaluated characteristics show low genetic gains in the selection; PTF, TR and PMC may be discarded and PMCV AND PCF must be maintained; in all characteristics there is divergence among progenies for choice of the parents to be involved in crosses directed and; the progenies not were to ranked sequentially in the phenogram of the dissimilarity.
