Diocese de Guarapuava: uma estratégia político-educacional da Igreja Católica no Paraná

Este artigo tem por objetivo discutir o processo de criação da Diocese de Guarapuava como uma estratégia político-educacional da Igreja Católica, circunscrita no contexto da segunda metade do século XX. Apoiase em Pierre Bourdieu, principalmente nos conceitos de campo e estratégia, bem como no Livro Tombo, no Boletim Diocesano e na literatura que tem a Igreja Católica em seu horizonte investigativo, os quais nos permitem afirmar que a presença da Diocese de Guarapuava ao longo dos bispados de D. Helmel (1966- 1986) e D. Cavallin (1986-1992), expressa uma estratégia político-educacional, pois objetiva criar condições mais efetivas de evangelização ou/e de aproximação entre clero e fiéis, assim como de mecanismos para garantir a presença da Igreja Católica nos diferentes espaços do mundo social.

This article discusses the process of creating the Diocese of Guarapuava as a political-educational strategy of the Catholic Church in the context of the second half of the 20th century. This work bases itself on Pierre Bourdieu especially on the concepts of field and strategy as well as on the Tombo Book, the Diocesian Bulletin and on literature which delves into the Catholic Church. These allow us to state that the Diocese of Guarapuava, during the bishoprics of D. Helmel (1966-1986) and D. Cavallin (1986-1992), expresses a political-educational strategy as it aims at creating more effective conditions for evangelizing and/or bringing the clergy closer to the congregation, as well as mechanisms that guarantee the presence of the Catholic Church in the different spheres of the social world.
