Para esta análise, leva-se em consideração o caráter dependente da formação capitalista da América Latina e suas expressões na contemporaneidade em especial, frente à conjuntura de retrocessos no âmbito da democracia brasileira. Há uma breve análise do contexto de avanço da agenda neoliberal no Brasil e também do recrudescimento dos mecanismos de coersão da democracia burguesa. Resgatase brevemente a trajetória de construção do projeto profissional do Serviço Social brasileiro compreendendo os avanços do movimento de reconceituação do Serviço Social latino americano. Desenvolve-se a articulação da categoria profissional com os movimentos sociais vinculados à classe trabalhadora enquanto elemento determinante tanto para o processo de construção do projeto ético-político profissional brasileiro quanto para a superação dos desafios impostos pelas contradições da totalidade histórica. Além disso, é feita uma reflexão sobre as possibilidades de desenvolvimento da formação profissional a partir do aprofundamento da relação entre a categoria e o conjunto dos movimentos sociais, principalmente frente aos limites impostos pelo atual estágio da democracia brasileira.

For this analysis, one takes into account the dependent nature of the capitalist formation of Latin America and its expressions in contemporary times, especially against the conjuncture of setbacks in the scope of Brazilian democracy. There is a brief analysis of the context of advancement of the neoliberal agenda in Brazil and also of the resurgence of the mechanisms of bourgeois democracy. We briefly review the construction of the professional project of the Brazilian Social Service comprising the advances of the reconceivation movement of the Latin American Social Service. The articulation of the professional category with the social movements linked to the working class is developed as a determining element both for the process of construction of the Brazilian professional ethical-political project and for overcoming the challenges imposed by the contradictions of the historical totality. In addition, a reflection on the possibilities of development of professional formation is made, based on the deepening of the relation between the category and the set of social movements, especially against the limits imposed by the current stage of Brazilian democracy
