Neste artigo temos como objetivo compartilhar alguns dados sobre a história do teatro produzido para crianças e jovens até meados da década de 70, com ênfase no contexto nacional. Para isso, realizamos um levantamento das principais referências teóricas publicadas no Brasil sobre o tema, com o intuito de oferecer ao leitor, em linhas gerais, o percurso das manifestações teatrais voltadas para a infância e a juventude, através dos tempos. Trata-se, portanto, de um breve panorama que neste texto abrange desde o Teatro de sombras de Dominique Séraphin, em Versalhes (séc. XVIII), até as primeiras produções de Ilo Krugli, no Brasil (séc. XX); passando, evidentemente, por notáveis experiências e personalidades, tanto no contexto nacional, quanto internacional do Teatro Infantojuvenil.
In this article we aim to share some information about the history of the theater produced for children and youngsters up to the mid-70s, with emphasis in the brazilian context. For this, we conducted a research of the main theoretical references published in Brazil about the topic, in order to give the reader, in general, the course of theatrical events specifically thought for children and youth through the ages. It is, therefore, a brief overview that this text covers from the theater of shadows of Dominique Séraphin, Versailles (XVIII), until the first productions of Ilo Krugli in Brazil (XX); passing by notable experiments and personalities, as seen in the international and national context of the Theatre for Children and Youngsters.
