A partir da noção clássica de cultura, examina-se a substantivação e a historicidade da cultura. Recorrendo à contribuição de E. Cassirer e de J. Rüsen delimita-se o âmbito da relação entre história e cultura pela proposta de uma concepção de cultura histórica e de diversos tipos de consciência história do agente racional humano. Recorre-se à análise da corrente dos estudos culturais e da abordagem antropológica da cultura para estipular o sentido e o alcance próprios da cultura histórica.
Starting from the classical notion of culture, this article examines the substantivation of culture and its historicity. Using the contribution of E. Cassirer and J. Rüsen, a delimitation of the scope of the relationship between history and culture is sketched by proposing both a conception of historical culture and a typology of historical consciousness of the human rational agent. Making use of contemporary ‘cultural studies’ and of cultural anthropology’s approach, the analyses tends to stipulate the proper meaning and scope of the historical culture.
