O presente artigo emerge de inquietações que instigaram os pesquisadores a explorar, através da busca por artigos que envolvessem o tema relacionando enfermagem e voleibol de alto rendimento. O objetivo da investigação foi identificar os artigos que abordam o tema do cuidado em saúde e enfermagem ao atleta de alto rendimento de voleibol, publicados em periódicos nacionais e internacionais. O método utilizado foi a revisão integrativa realizada nas bases de dados PUBMED, CINAHL, LILACS e SciELO, de janeiro de 2007 a agosto de 2015. Os resultados encontrados foram 687 artigos, destes, 49 foram pré-selecionados por meio da leitura dos resumos, e a partir da leitura na íntegra dos 49 artigos, 17 artigos foram selecionados Conclui-se que há uma escassez de produção científica sobre a gestão do cuidado a saúde e enfermagem no voleibol, revelando significativas possibilidades de inserção da enfermagem neste contexto.
This article arises from the musings that inspire researchers to explore the topic related to nursing and high-performance volleyball. The purpose of the research was to analyze papers approaching the topic of healthcare and nursing for high performance athletes, published in national and international journals. The method used an integrative review performed on PUBMED, CINAHL, LILACS and SciELO databases from January 2007 to August 2015. This search resulted in 687 articles, with 49 of them being pre-selected through the reading of the abstracts. After the thorough reading of all 49 articles, 17 were selected. It can be concluded that there is a gap in scientific production regarding the management of healthcare and nursing in volleyball, revealing meaningful possibilities for the insertion of nursing care in the area.
