A corda é, juntamente com a Santa e a berlinda, um dos signos mais antigos do Círio de Nossa Senhora de Nazaré, festa religiosa ligada ao catolicismo devocional que acontece na Cidade de Belém/PA, há mais de duzentos anos. Este artigo pretende investigar a Corda como parte integrante da Festa de Nazaré. Sua vitalidade e permanência advém das disputas e embates travadas por setores populares e elite dirigente da Festa. A análise deste signo da festividade como espaço onde se processa o fenômeno luta cultural encontra amparo nas discussões teóricas de Stuart Hall (2006). Na mesma proporção, considerar a corda como espaço de tensão e disputa é percebe-la, como o momento da articulação de diferenças culturais, ou melhor dizendo, o entre-lugar.
The rope it is, together with the Saint and the “berlinda”, one of the oldest symbols of Círio de Nossa Senhora on religious party connected to the catholicism of devotion that happens in the City of Belém/PA, there are over two hundred years. This article intends to investigate the rope as integrant part of the party of Nazaré. Its vitality and remained contains is based on the wheeling and dealing fought for popular sectors and the elite who drives the party. The analysis of this party symbol as a space where you can find the phenomenon of the cultural fight, that finds support on the theoretical discussions of Stuart Hall (2006). On the same proportion, considerer the rope as a space of tension and dispute is realize it as the moment of articulation on the cultural differences, or better saying, the between-place.
