Esta pesquisa relata a investigação realizada em uma Cooperativa de materiais reciclados da cidade de Santa Cruz do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil. Procurou-se identificar o comportamento dos colaboradores e sua real percepção sobre os problemas sociais e ambientais que fazem parte do seu cotidiano, e assim empregá-los na possibilidade de transformar essa realidade social em um negócio rentável e sustentável. Para o desenvolvimento desta pesquisa a metodologia classificou-se como bibliográfica, exploratória e também como uma pesquisa ação, onde através de oficinas sistematizadas, os conceitos de P+L, Ecoeficiência e Sustentabilidade foram aplicados pelos pesquisadores e agregou-se valor aos novos produtos desenvolvidos. Os resultados comprovam a otimização da sustentabilidade dentro da Cooperativa, valorizando e dignificando a mão de obra, e assim gerando renda para uma melhor qualidade de vida daqueles sujeitos e suas famílias.

This research reports research undertaken in a cooperative of recycled materials from the city of Santa Cruz do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. We tried to identify the behavior of employees and their real perception about social and environmental problems that are part of your daily life, and so employs them on the possibility of transforming this social reality in a profitable and sustainable business. For the development of this research the methodology was classified as bibliographical, exploratory and also as an action research, where through systematized workshops, the concepts of P+L, Ecoefficiency and Sustainability were applied by the researchers and added value to the new products developed. The results demonstrate the optimization of sustainability within the cooperative, valuing and dignificando labour, and thus generating income for a better quality of life of those guys and their families.
