Este estudo tem como objetivo analisar as características da produção científica sobre ‘Condição Financeira Governamental’, nos principais periódicos internacionais, no período de 2007 a 2017. Para tanto, realizou-se uma pesquisa de abordagem mista, exploratório-descritiva, empregando o método da bibliometria, cujo material de análise foi extraído da base de dados Scopus®. No processo de filtragem dos artigos, inseriu-se o termo ‘condição financeira governamental’ nos idiomas português, inglês e espanhol, a fim de verificar as discussões da temática ocorridas um ano antes da crise econômica mundial em 2008, e, identificar o que vem sendo abordados nessas pesquisas na atualidade, portanto, uma análise da produção científica no período de onze anos. Os principais achados mostram que as pesquisas sobre condição financeira governamental foram mais frequentes nos Estados Unidos, Reino Unido e Espanha; no ano de 2007 até 2014, o volume de produção apresentou crescimento semelhante ao linear, com queda em 2015, mas logo retomou ao crescimento no ano seguido; instituições como a London School of Economics and Political Science, International Monetary Fund, Federal Reserve Board, foram as maiores responsáveis por essa produção; o principal periódico a recepcionar pesquisas na referida linha foi o Public Budgeting and Finance. Sobre os autores, constatou-se que Walker, R.G., Chen, B., Jones S. e Sousa R.M. foram os que mais publicaram nesse período, e, quatro também permaneceram como os mais proficientes dentro da linha de pesquisa, porém, quando se trata de redes de cooperação, apenas Walker, R.G. e Jones S. pesquisam juntos.

This study aims to analyze the characteristics of the scientific production on 'Governmental Financial Condition', in the main international journals, from 2007 to 2017. For this purpose, a mixed-exploratory-descriptive approach was carried out using the bibliometrics, whose analysis material was extracted from the Scopus® database. In the process of filtering the articles, the term 'governmental financial condition' was inserted in the Portuguese, English and Spanish languages, in order to verify the discussions that took place one year before the world economic crisis in 2008, and to identify what is coming therefore, an analysis of the scientific production in the period of eleven years. The main findings show that research on government financial condition was more frequent in the United States, United Kingdom and Spain; in the year 2007 to 2014, the volume of production presented similar growth to the linear one, with decrease in 2015, but soon resumed to the growth in the year followed; institutions such as the London School of Economics and Political Science, the International Monetary Fund, the Federal Reserve Board, were the main responsible for this production; the main periodical to receive research in this line was the Public Budgeting and Finance. About the authors, it was found that Walker, RG, Chen, B., Jones S. and Sousa RM were the most published in this period, and four also remained the most proficient within the research line, however, when deals with cooperation networks, only Walker, RG and Jones S. research together.
