The essential oils of leaves Eugenia uniflora L and Eugenia involucrata - Myrtaceae of Rio Grande do Sul - Brazil - were analyzed by gas phase chromatography with fused silica capillary column using H 2 as the drag gas and temperature programming of 50 ° - 200 ° C at 40 ° C / min. For Eugenia uniflora L, the compounds identified were limonene (9.4%), cineol (9.13%), β-pinene (8.59%), α-felandrene (2.13%), 77%), α-pinene (1.43%), and a greater amount of α-terpineol (39.20%) as the main compound. For Eugenia involucrata,the following compounds were detected: limonene (8.39%), β-pinene (4.63%), α-pinene (4.41%), camphene (2.19%), α- ), α-phellandrene (2%), myrcene (0.52%), and cineol (6.38%).
