O objetivo deste artigo é apontar algumas leituras sobre Santa Catarina de Sena. Pretende-se
perceber como se refletem as visões teocêntricas e antropocêntricas da sociedade na obra da senense,
considerando a representação imagética do seu mundo imagético. Para fins didáticos, inicialmente será
apresentada uma breve síntese da vida e da obra da autora. Num segundo momento, a partir de alguns
elementos do seu contexto espiritual, será discutido como o ‘eu’ foi representado dentro da literatura, e
como esta refletiu as mudanças nas concepções de mundo.

Resumo Inglês:

The aim of this article is to point out some readings on Saint Catherine of Siena. It is intended
at perceiving how theocentric and anthropocentric views of society at large reflect on the works of the
Sienese, considering the imagetic representation of her imagetic world. First of all, for didactic purposes,
a brief summary of the life and work of Saint Catherine will be presented. After that, the representation of
the “self” in the literature, as well as how that literature has reflected changes in world conception, will be
discussed.
