O objetivo deste artigo é identificar características da produção científica que aborda a associação entre ativos intangíveis e desempenho econômico-financeiro por meio da bibliometria e sob a perspectiva de redes sociais. Com base nos resultados obtidos, observou-se que a maioria das pesquisas foi publicada no intervalo dos anos 2009 e 2012 e em coautoria, sendo a maior parte formada por três autores. A maioria dos estudos estava vinculada a instituições das regiões Sudeste e Sul, sendo a Universidade de São Paulo, a instituição com maior número de artigos publicados. O estudo também abrangeu uma análise de redes sociais, na qual se identificou que há apenas quatro interações entre grupos de coautores. A análise sugeriu que os estudos que associam a intangibilidade dos ativos e o desempenho econômico-financeiro ainda não apresentam concentrações de publicações de grupos de pesquisa ou que a temática efetiva ainda está em desenvolvimento no meio acadêmico.

The objective of this article is to identify characteristics of the scientific production that deals with the association between intangible assets and economic and financial performance through bibliometrics and from the perspective of social networks. Based on the results obtained, it was observed that most of the research was published in the interval of 2009 and 2012 and in co-authorship, most of them being made up of three authors. Most of the studies were linked to institutions in the Southeast and South regions, with the University of São Paulo being the institution with the highest number of articles published. The study also covered a social network analysis, in which it was identified that there are only four interactions between groups of co-authors. The analysis suggested that the studies that associate asset intangibility and economic-financial performance have not yet presented concentrations of research group publications or that the actual topic is still developing in the academic world.
