Quando o mito deixou de ser o método de processamento do cosmos, o mundo helênico sofreu uma cisão irreparável. O homem, agora destituído da conexão transcendental com os deuses e com o universo, inicia então sua jornada ontologicamente solitária. A arte, em especial a literatura, como atividade essencialmente humana acompanhou formalmente tal separação. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo investigar a evolução das formas, da epopéia até o romance, como sintoma da jornada desse homem solitário. É também nossa preocupação, partindo da idéia de que a literatura é produto de uma experiência individual, solitária e particular, levantar questões sobre o valor da existência de divisões tais como: Literaturas de Gênero, Literaturas Étnicas, Literaturas Nacionais etc.
When the myth was no longer the processing method of the cosmos, the Hellenic world suffered an irreparable schism. The man, now devoid of transcendental connection with the gods and the universe, starts his ontologically lonesome journey. The arts – especially literature – while being essentially human activities, accompanied formally such separation. The present study aimed to investigate the evolution of forms, from the epic poem to the novel, as a symptom of this forlorn man’s Journey. It is also our concern – thinking literature as the product of an individual, solitary and particular experience – to raise questions on the worthiness of labels and divisions such as: Literatures of Gender, Ethnic Literatures, National Literatures etc.
