A leitura literária pode constituir-se como uma experiência singular de construção e deapropriação de sentidos. Nesse contexto, o texto literário que pode ser deflagrador deentendimento, indagação, reflexão, construção e desconstrução de sentidos, exigindo atuaçõesespecíficas por parte do leitor na sua apropriação. Tendo em vista estas relações, a fruiçãoliterária constitui-se como uma experiência estética relacionada à leitura da literatura. Afruição literária caracteriza-se por seu caráter de gratuidade, não funcional, que implica afetos,imaginação, sentidos e também intelecto, e é, nesse sentido, um fenômeno que envolve,principalmente, a ordem do sensível, sem, contudo, negligenciar aspectos inteligíveis. Nessesentido a fruição literária é um fenômeno que constitui-se, também, como um ato complexo econtraposto às noções simplistas que a identificam como mero ato sensorial, hedonista eesvaziado daquilo que lhe é inerente, ou seja, sua complexidade. Proporcionar ao alunooportunidade para vivenciar a leitura de fruição deve ser o foco principal para que seconcretize o processo de formação de leitores de literatura na escola básica, sobretudo noEnsino Fundamental.
