O bibliotecário tornou-se presente na área da editoração com o avanço tecnológico ocorrido a partir do século XX. Este estudo tem o intuito de investigar a prática do processo editorial do Jornal Páginas PET na perspectiva das atividades inerentes ao bibliotecário-editor, bem como refletir o leque de competências necessárias na formação dos futuros bibliotecários. Para alcançar o objetivo desse estudo, utilizou-se de métodos, como pesquisa de natureza básica, assim, classificando-se como exploratória. Desta forma, no final de todo o processo nota-se a presença de um forte diálogo entre as funções editoriais tradicionais, as funções do projeto Páginas PET e as competências do bibliotecário-editor. Por fim deve-se observar o quão importante é o presente estudo por proporcionar uma colaboração para com outros estudos relacionados à área de atuação do bibliotecário

The librarian became present in the area of publishing with the technological advance that occurred from the twentieth century. This study intends to investigate the practice of the editorial process of the PET Pages Journal from the perspective of the activities inherent to the librarian-editor, as well as reflect the range of skills needed in the training of future librarians. In order to reach the objective of this study, we used methods such as basic research, thus classifying ourselves as exploratory. Thus, at the end of the whole process, there is a strong dialogue between traditional editorial functions, the functions of the PET Pages project and the skills of the librarian-editor. Finally, it should be noted how important the present study is to provide a collaboration with other studies related to the area of activity of the librarian
