A representação e recuperação da linhagem é um dos principais temas encontrados em termos de historiografia medieval. Ademais, tal representação e recuperação obedecia a uma proposta educacional política, uma vez que tais documentos eram registrados com o intuito não somente de recuperarem a memória linhagística, mas também de favorecerem o conhecimento e a reflexão sobre os feitos passados. A Saga dos Ynglingos (c. 1225), de Snorri Sturluson (c. 1179-1241), apresenta a linhagem dos Ynglingos abordando aspectos originários, mitológicos, literários e históricos sobre os antigos povos escandinavos. O objetivo deste artigo é analisar a relação entre a recuperação da memória da linhagem ynglinga e a proposta educacional política que pode ser encontrada no texto de Sturluson, abordando as principais características atribuídas à linhagem dos Ynglingos, assim como as principais funções da linhagem destacadas no documento. Como fundamentação teórica utilizamos os estudos de Aleida Assmann (2011), Gabrielle M. Spiegel (1990) e Jaume Aurell (2012; 2013).

The representation and recover of the lineage are one of the mainly topics presents in the medieval historiography. Beside this, this representation and recover follow to a political educational propose, because this document was registered in order to not only recover the memory of the lineage, but also to propose the knowledge and reflection about the past facts. The Saga dos Ynglingos (c. 1225), by Snorri Sturluson (c. 1179-1241), present the lineage of the Ynglingos stressing originary, mythological, literary and historical aspects about the ancient Scandinavian. The main of this article is to analyse the relationship between the recovery of the memory of the ynglinga lineage and the political educational propose, which could be find out in the Sturluson’s narrative, such as the mainly characteristics of the Ynglingal lineage, and as the mainly functions of the lineage presents in the document. As theoretical fundaments, we use the studies of Aleida Assmann (2011), Gabrielle M. Spiegel (1990) e Jaume Aurell (2012; 2013).
