O trabalho aborda o agendamento dos Trending Topics no Twitter como uma forma de ativismo digital. A partir do caso Wikileaks, discutem-se as estratégias utilizadas pelos interagentes na tentativa de alçar o assunto aos Trending Topics na ferramenta. O estudo é operacionalizado a partir da observação de tweets postados no começo de dezembro de 2010. Uma parte dos tweets publicados no perÃodo abordava o tema de forma descontextualizada, o que traz indÃcios de uma tentativa de "bombardear" o termo wikileaks no Twitter a fim de listá-lo como um Trending Topic, resultando, conforme se argumenta no artigo, numa forma de colaboração, mesmo que por vezes sem esse propósito, à ação ciberativista.
The paper addresses the agenda-setting of Trending Topics on Twitter as a form o digital activism. From the Wikileaks case, we discuss strategies used by interactants in the attempt to raise the issue to the tool’s Trending Topics. The study was operationalized through the observation of tweets posted in early December 2010. Part of the tweets published in the period addresses the issue in a descontextualized way, which brings evidence of an attempt to “bomb†the term wikileaks on Twitter in order to list it as a Trending Topic, resulting, as we argue in the article, in a form of collaborating, even sometimes without intention, with the structure of the activist collective action.
