Arte contemporânea: a dimensão corporal e sensorial da experiência receptiva.

Este artigo é o recorte de uma pesquisa sobre o envolvimento sensorial e corporal
implicado na recepção da arte contemporânea. Ela parte da narrativa de experiências
vivenciadas por um grupo de frequentadores de exposições. Tem-se como objetivo destacar
alguns fatores determinantes para o comprometimento do corpo e dos sentidos do público
junto às obras e sua relação com as experiências consideradas pelos entrevistados como as
mais marcantes e memoráveis no âmbito expositivo. Os fatores são: a disponibilidade, a
individualidade e o tempo para a recepção; o espaço expositivo e a expografia; o
conhecimento prévio sobre obras e artistas; as questões formais e materiais que figuram na
arte contemporânea. A discussão desses elementos revela a importância do contato direto com
a obra para a ampliação dos conceitos e parâmetros de julgamento no campo da arte e realça a
aproximação entre arte contemporânea e vida.

This article is a snippet from a research about the sensorial and bodily involvement
implied on the reception of contemporary art. It starts from the narrative of experiences lived
by a group of exhibit goers. The objective taken is to remark some determining factors for the
commitment of the body and the senses of the audience with the works and their relation with
the experiences considered by the interviewees as the most remarkable and memorable in the
exhibit ambit. The factors are: the availability, the individuality, and the time for reception;
the exhibit space and the expography; the background knowledge about works and artists; the
formal and material questions that are presented in contemporary art. The discussion of these
elements reveals the importance of direct contact with the work for the enlargement of
concepts and parameters of judgment in the field of art and highlights the approximation
between contemporary art and life.
