Existe uma preocupação crescente com políticas afirmativas de incentivo ao estudo por parte do
governo e sociedade, ao mesmo tempo em que existe uma escassez de estudos recentes sobre que
fatores influenciam o acesso à educação por parte da população e como cada fator contribui positiva
ou negativamente para que o incentivo ao estudo seja garantido à população em geral. O objetivo
deste estudo é analisar alguns dos fatores que contribuem para a permanência dos jovens moradores
da Cidade de Porto Alegre nas instituições de ensino e dos fatores que os incentivam a ingressar no
mercado de trabalhou utilizando modelos estatísticos de regressão logística multinomial. Os fatores
que apresentaram os efeitos mais significativos foram: o jovem ser filho ou enteado do chefe
domiciliar, que aumenta significativamente as chances do jovem estudar e reduz bastante as chances
dos jovens se dedicarem exclusivamente ao trabalho e o jovem ser do sexo masculino, que aumenta
as chances do jovem estudar e trabalhar e principalmente dele apenas trabalhar.



Resumo Inglês:

There is growing concern with affirmative policies to encourage the study by the government and
society, while there is a lack of recent studies on what factors influence access to education for the
population and how each factor contributes positively or negatively to the incentive to study is
guaranteed to the general public. The objective of this study is to analyze some of the factors that
contribute to the permanence of the young residents of the city of Porto Alegre in educational
institutions and the factors that encourage enter the job market using statistical models of
multinomial logistic regression. The factors that had the most significant effects were the young be
child or stepchild of the household head, which significantly increases the chances of the young
study and greatly reduces the chances of young people to devote themselves exclusively to the work
and the young male sex, which increases the chances of the young study and work and mostly it just
work.
