Em estudo envolvendo representações sociais acerca do corpo nas aulas de Educação Física escolar, ficou constatado que alunas têm sido alijadas dessas aulas em determinadas ocasiões. O presente artigo, fruto de pesquisa de campo, de abordagem quali-quantitativa, teve como objetivo ponderar sobre as relações que envolvem tal alijamento, a fim de vislumbrarmos, mais nitidamente, as ressignificações necessárias a avanços de conceitos e de condutas, envolvendo, em nosso caso, os corpos nessas aulas. Sinalizamos que os estudos em representações sociais vêm mostrando o quanto essa noção e sua correlata base teórica permitem compreensão e explicação aprofundadas dos fenômenos sociais, sendo, pois, o aporte teórico - metodológico utilizado. Os dados imagéticos foram analisados e interpretados utilizando-se o Método Documentário e a Metodologia Qualiquantitativa do Discurso do Sujeito Coletivo. Propugnamos pelo uso de conteúdo imagético em pesquisas, tal como a nossa, envolvendo representações sociais, para melhor compreendermos, por intermédio de discursos imagéticos, como essas representações encontram-se organizadas e quais os sentidos que as envolvem, visto ser o imaginário uma realidade e as imagens não somente reflexos de uma dada mentalidade, mas também constituintes de dado imaginário e produtoras dessa realidade social.

In a study involving social representations about the body in the classes of Physical Education school, it was verified that students have been have been excluded from these classes on certain occasions. This article, the result of a field research, of a qualitative and quantitative approach, had the objective of considering the relations that involve such dumping, in order to more clearly perceive the significations necessary for the advancement of concepts and conduct, our case, the bodies in those classes. We note that studies in social representations have shown how this notion and its correlative theore tical basis allow in-depth understanding and explanation of social phenomena, and therefore, the theoretical-methodological contribution used. The imaging data were analyzed and interpreted using the Documentary Method and the Qualiquantitative Methodology of the Discourse of the Collective Subject. We advocate the use of imaging content in research, such as ours, involving social representations, in order to better understand, through imagery discourses, how these representations are organized and which me anings involve them, since the imaginary is a reality and the images not only reflections of a given mentality, but also constituents of imaginary data and producers of this social reality.
