Esta resenha apresenta alguns aspectos relevantes da obra Audiovisions: Cinema and Television as Entr’Actes in History. O autor, Siegfried Zielinski, realiza um trabalho de arqueologia dos meios audiovisuais, resgatando desde os artefatos rudimentares do pré-cinema até uma discussão dos rumos da comunicação de massa no final do século XX. Destaca-se sempre a relação da tecnologia com o ambiente cultural e a posição do indivÃduo diante do discurso da mÃdia.
Analogical-digital alchemies. This review presents some relevant aspects of the work Audiovisions: Cinema and Television as Entr’Actes in History. The author, Siegfried Zielinski, executes an archeological work of the audiovisual media, bringing to light innumerous artefacts from pre-cinema era to advanced audiovisual, leading up to a debate on the new possibilities of mass communication in the end of the 20th Century. It is always noticeable the relationship between cultural environment and the position of the individual in face of the media discourse.
