Introdução: O ligamento cruzado anterior é primordial na sustentação do joelho, uma vez que impede a deslocação anterior no joelho não submetido a carga. Com essa lesão é necessário que o indivíduo acometido se submeta a reconstrução do ligamento e a reabilitação, para ter de volta uma boa funcionalidade. Esse tratamento é extremamente importante para que indivíduos tenham uma boa recuperação e retornem as suas atividades anteriores. Objetivos: Relatar a importância da abordagem fisioterapêutica após artroscopia de joelho para reconstrução do ligamento cruzado anterior. Métodos: Trata-se um estudo de caso com delineamento observacional, de caráter longitudinal e descritivo de um paciente que realizou tratamento fisioterapêutico após reconstrução de ligamento cruzado anterior do joelho direito. Resultados: Foi observado controle do quadro álgico, melhora na amplitude de movimento durante a flexão (80° vs 104°) e extensão (22° vs 8°) do joelho acometido. Na avaliação da força muscular, foi atingido grau 5 nos grupos musculares do joelho pela escala de Oxford, porém não foi verificado o aumento da massa muscular. No tratamento proprioceptivo houve melhora considerável no equilíbrio estático e dinâmico. Conclusão: A abordagem fisioterapêutica é essencial para o ganho da amplitude de movimento, força muscular, propriocepção e analgesia.

Introduction: The anterior cruciate ligament is primordial in the support of the knee, since it prevents the anterior displacement in the unloaded knee. With this lesion it is necessary that the affected individual undergo reconstruction of the ligament and the rehabilitation, to have a good functionality back. This treatment is extremely important for individuals to have a good recovery and return to their previous activities.. Objectives: To report the importance of the physiotherapeutic approach after knee arthroscopy for reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament. Methods: This is a case study with a longitudinal and descriptive characterization of a patient who underwent physiotherapeutic treatment after reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament of the right knee. Results: Pain control, improvement in range of motion during flexion (80° vs 104°) and extension (22° vs 8°) of the affected knee were observed.. In the assessment of muscle strength, grade 5 was reached in the knee muscle groups by the Oxford scale, but the increase in muscle mass was not verified. In the proprioceptive treatment there was considerable improvement in the static and dynamic balance. Conclusion: The physiotherapeutic approach was essential for the gain of range of motion, muscular strength, proprioception and analgesia.
