A ABORDAGEM CONSERVADORA DA VIOLÊNCIA NA REVISTA NOVA ESCOLA

É inegável que debate em torno dos temas “mídia, educação e violência” traz uma série de questões que perpassa pela complexidade das relações sociais. A apreciação das representações sobre a temática da violência na Revista Nova Escola desvela como a mídia comumente trata desse assunto. Frequentemente esse assunto é abordado nos textos deste periódico através da diversidade de opiniões, desvelando a cristalização de ideologias e a formação de discursos. De caráter qualitativa, a pesquisa tem interesse em compreender a representação que o veículo de comunicação constrói acerca da “violência e educação”. A leitura das revistas reunidas que foram analisadas nos levaram a construção das categorias “incivilidades”, “violência institucional”, “violência simbólica” e “bullying”. O periódico analisado, que tem um grande alcance professores que atuam na educação básica de escolas pública ou privadas, demonstra que a abordagem da revista faz sobre o problema das violências tem uma ótica conservadora.

It is undeniable that the debate on the themes "media, education and violence" brings a series of questions that runs through the complexity of social relations. The appreciation of the representations on the issue of violence in the Nova Escola Journal reveals how the media commonly deal with this issue. Often this subject is approached in the texts of this periodical through the diversity of opinions, revealing the crystallization of ideologies and the formation of discourses. The article is interested in understanding the representation that the communication vehicle constructs about "violence and education". The reading of the gathered magazines that were analyzed led us to construct the categories "incivilities", "institutional violence", "symbolic violence" and "bullying". The analyzed journal, which has a wide reach teachers working in public or private school basic education, demonstrates that the magazine's approach to the problem of violence has a conservative view.
