A violência doméstica que por anos passou a ser admitida com a tese da “legítima defesa da honra” como causa de diminuição de pena ou até mesmo de exclusão de ilicitude, percorre um caminho até encontrar-se tipificado no Código Penal, com qualificadora própria, de feminicídio. O objetivo do trabalho é buscar historicamente os principais eventos legais e jurídicos na esfera do combate de violência, corroborando com conversas teóricas do campo, aos quais dão luz a compreensão de termos e do movimento feminista, cujo é fundamental no processo evolutivo no debate da violência contra mulheres no Brasil. Para tanto, nossa metodologia de pesquisa se conforma em uma revisão bibliográfica das principais colaboradoras do campo dos estudos de gênero sobre o problema da violência contra as mulheres no Brasil, trilhando, em conjunto, os principais eventos legislacionais para o enfrentamento do fenômeno.

Domestic violence, which for years came to be admitted with the thesis of “legitimate defense of honor” as a cause of reduction of sentence or even exclusion of illegality, goes through a path until it finds itself typified in the Penal Code, with its own qualifier, of femicide. The objective of this work is to historically seek the main legal and juridical events in the sphere of combating violence, corroborating with theoretical conversations in the field, which give light to the understanding of terms and the feminist movement, which is fundamental in the evolutionary process in the debate on violence. against women in Brazil. To this end, our research methodology is based on a bibliographic review of the main collaborators in the field of gender studies on the problem of violence against women in Brazil, tracking, together, the main legislative events to face the phenomenon.
