O artigo propõe analisar o romance Mayombe (1980), de Pepetela – escritor da atualidade que desponta como referência quando se problematiza a relação Literatura/História. Trata-se, portanto, de uma pesquisa interdisciplinar, na qual o objetivo fulcral é empreender uma discussão em torno do romance em tela, dando ênfase aos processos crÃticos e literários pelos quais culturas excluÃdas têm suas histórias relidas e reescritas.
The article intends to analyze the novel Mayombe (1980), by Pepetela – a contemporary writer who is now a reference in dealing with the relationship between Literature and History. Thus, this is an interdisciplinary research, whose main aim is to carry out a discussion on the target novel, giving emphasis on the critical and literary processes through excluded cultures have been re-read and re-written.
